Am descoperit in armenianweekly.com un poet de talent numit Adrian David. Va prezint poezia sa “I am Hayastan” in engleza si intr-o traducere neliterara in romana.
You banished me to the desert,
yet I thrived like a cactus
through thick and thin.
You pushed me into the Euphrates,
Nevertheless, you could not drown my hopes,
the burning hopes of my forefathers.
You deprived me of my homeland,
Little did you know
my land lives forever in my heart.
You strived to bury my legacy.
How can you do so
when my rich heritage dates back millennia?
You suppressed my language and my culture.
No matter what you do,
they shall not be forgotten.
You tested my faith to the fullest.
Still, I never faltered an inch.
My faith is what kept me going.
You denied your evil deeds against me.
But the whole world has seen
the innocent blood on your hands.
You wanted to wipe out my very existence.
Try as you might,
I will never be overcome.
I stand tall. I stand fearless.
I am resilient. I am unshaken.
I am Hayastan.
M-ai alungat în desert,
dar am înflorit ca un cactus
prin groase si subtiri.
M-ai împins în Eufrat,
Cu toate acestea, n-ai putut sa-mi îneci sperantele,
sperantele arzatoare ale stramosilor mei.
M-ai lipsit de patria mea,
Putin stiai
ca pamântul meu ramâne vesnic în inima mea.
Te-ai straduit sa-mi îngropi mostenirea.
Cum poti face asta
când bogata mea mostenire dateaza de milenii?
Mi-ai suprimat limba si cultura.
Indiferent ce faci,
ele nu vor fi uitate.
Mi-ai testat credinta la maxim.
Totusi, nu am clatinat niciodata un centimetru.
Credinta mea este cea care m-a facut s? merg.
Ai lepadat faptele tale rele împotriva mea.
Dar întreaga lume a v?zut
sângele nevinovat de pe mâinile tale.
Ai vrut sa-mi stergi însasi existenta.
Oricât ai încerca,
nu voi fi niciodata biruit.
stau înalt, stau neinfricat.
Sunt rezistent. sunt neclintit.
Eu sunt Hayastan.
