C’est avec beaucoup d’émotion que nous venons vers vous. Il y a presque 8 mois, vous avez été des centaines à nous témoigner de l’amitié que vous aviez de près ou de loin avec Chloé. Vous nous avez exprimé combien sa courte vie avait du sens pour vous. Vos témoignages à tous nous ont bouleversés et soutenus. Sa disparition en montagne nous laisse les bras vides mais le cœur empli de sa présence. Nous nous sommes posés beaucoup de questions sur le sens de sa vie si courte, sur son engagement, sur vos témoignages. Tout ceci nous a décidés de publier les textes de Chloé. Si la motivation de départ était de laisser une trace de notre fille, très vite, ses textes et les vôtres nous ont amenés sur un autre chemin : être témoin et visionnaire du projet de vie qu’elle nous transmet – comme un trésor et le partager entre vous tous. Si ce partage se fait via un bouquin et un dvd, nous avons voulu aller plus loin en créant l’asbl « CHLOE GRAFTIAUX PASSION TOGETHER » . … nous sommes sûrs qu’elle aurait apprécié. Pour pouvoir vivre ses passions, outre sa volonté, Chloé a reçu des petits coups de pouce de-ci, de là. L’objectif est de poursuivre cette démarche en donnant un petit coup de pouce aux jeunes qui ont des projets en grimpe, en sports de montagne ou dans les secours mais dans un objectif de partage de passion. Pour se faire, nous avons d’abord décidé de vendre le livre+DVD au prix coûtant pour permettre à un maximum de jeunes d’y accéder. Libre à ceux qui le souhaitent d’offrir un petit plus… Tous les bénéfices générés seront versés à cette association qui soutiendra financièrement certains projets annuellement. Les modalités pratiques seront définies dans les semaines à venir et diffusées sur le site de Chloé : www.chloegraftiaux.com . Nous vous invitons donc à diffuser largement cette information auprès de vos canaux d’information : amis, site de clubs, en compétition, facebook … tous les moyens sont bons. Nous sommes par ailleurs ouverts à tous ceux intéressés pour soutenir plus largement le projet et l’investir avec nous d’une manière ou d’une autre :info@chloegraftiaux-passion-together.com. Concrètement, nous vous invitons à commander le plus tôt possible le livre avec le formulaire joint que vous pouvez nous renvoyer par mail ou à le remplir en ligne sur le site de Chloé. Pour le paiement, nous vous demandons de privilégier le virement qui n’occasionne aucun frais supplémentaire. Nous vous demandons aussi de ne pas attendre la sortie du livre pour procéder à l’achat –car cela nous permet de déterminer combien d’exemplaires imprimer. Les contraintes techniques et budgétaires nous empêcheront toute forme de réédition. La sortie du livre et le lancement officiel de l’association « CHLOE GRAFTIAUX PASSION TOGETHER » ne pouvait se faire que « TOGETHER ». Une petite quinzaine de la grimpe sera organisée du 21 août au 31 août à Namur et Freyr, en étroite collaboration avec le Syndicat d’initiative de Jambes et le Club Alpin Belge. Au travers de diverses animations, ce sont toutes les passions de Chloé qui seront partagées. Le programme sera diffusé largement via différents canaux.

It is with much emotion that we come to you. Almost 8 months ago, hundreds of you testified of the friendship, be it close or remote, you had with Chloé. You expressed how much her short life has had meaning for you. Your testimonies both upset us and supported us.Her disappearance in the mountains left our arms empty but our heart filled with her presence. We have asked ourselves a lot of questions regarding the meaning of her terribly short life, about her involvement, and about your testimonies. All this has led us to publish the texts of Chloé. Even if the starting motivation was to leave a trace of our daughter, very quickly, her texts, and yours, brought us on another path: to be witness and visionary of a life’s project that she gave us – as a treasure – and to share it with you all. If this sharing is already done via a book and a dvd, we wanted go even further by creating the non-profit association “CHLOE GRAFTIAUX PASSION TOGETHER”. … we are sure that she would have appreciated. To be able to live her passions, in addition to her will, Chloé received small nudges in the right direction here and there. The objective is to continue this by giving similar nudges to the young people who have projects in climbing, in mountain sports or in mountain assistance, but with the goal of sharing a passion. To do this, we initially decided to sell the book+DVD at the cost price to allow a maximum of young people access to it. It is left up to you if you wish to offer more… All the generated benefits will be transferred to this association which will financially support certain projects on a yearly basis. The practicalities will be defined in the weeks to come and published on the site of Chloé: www.chloegraftiaux.com. We thus invite you to widely disseminate this information through your channels of information: friends, clubsites, in competitions, facebook… all means are good. Concretely, we invite you to order the book as soon as possible with the form joined, which you can return to us by email or to fill it out on line on the site of Chloé. For the payment, we ask you to privilege electronic money transfer which does not cause any additional expenses. We also ask you not to await the publication of the book to proceed to the purchase – this enables us to determine how much copies to print. The technical and budgetary constraints will prevent any form of republication. The publication of the book and the official launch of the association “CHLOE GRAFTIAUX PASSION TOGETHER” could only be done “TOGETHER”. A fortnight of climbing will be organized from August 21st to August 31st in Namur and Freyr, in close cooperation with the Tourist office Jambes and the Belgian Alpine Club. Through various animations, all the passions of Chloé will be shared. The program will be widely diffused via various channels.
